    Meet Jason Smitka

    Investment Adviser Representative and Insurance Professional

    As the CEO of Scout Financial Group, Jason Smitka is focused on helping clients work toward their retirement dreams through a well-thought-out strategy for retirement income.

    Jason got his start in the financial industry in November of 2000. His many years of experience have enabled him to shape a unique approach to financial strategy:

    “My services never put an undue emphasis on a client’s investment products,” he says. “If somebody has an investment product that they’re happy with, I won’t try to convince them to change it. No one should fix something that isn’t broken just so their advisor can make a sale … .

    “What my approach does is help that client to build a wall, so to speak, around the investment products they already have. My goal is to help reduce that client’s exposure to taxes, fees and health care expenses to the greatest extent possible. If I can accomplish that, the client will be in a better financial situation regardless of what his or her investment is. I focus on the strategy that surrounds the investment product, not on the product itself.”

    Before becoming a financial advisor, Jason served in the United States Air Force. He is also passionate about helping veterans plan for their retirement.

    Jason holds life and health insurance licenses in Kansas and Missouri and has passed the Series 6, 63 and 65 exams. He graduated summa cum laude with dual degrees in business administration and management from Arizona State University.

    Jason lives in Kansas City with his wife, Linzi, and their dogs, Lily and Liam. In his free time, Jason enjoys spending time outdoors, working out and surfing.

    Meet Tiffany Diaz

    Director of Marketing

    Tiffany has been instrumental in piloting the company’s overall marketing endeavors. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the financial and insurance industry to the Scout team.

    Tiffany is a graduate of Texas Southern University. Outside of work, Tiffany enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children. Whether it’s attending a sports game or a hanging out poolside, Tiffany enjoys being outdoors with her family and friends. She is also an avid cook and always enjoys creating new dishes.

    Meet Natalie Anderson

    Director of Operations

    Natalie is the smiling face you’ll see as you walk into our home office. She heads up the operational flow of the entire organization, delivering superior customer service to ensure that each and every one of our clients has a very positive business relationship with us. Her focus is on maintaining the commitments we pledge to our clients while making sure that the daily operations involved with our business don’t miss a beat. She is proud to be a part of the team and to uphold the strong values of Scout Financial Group.

    Natalie is a graduate from Kansas State University and the University of Kansas Medical Center. She lives in Merriam with her husband and daughter. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, and trying out new restaurants.

    Meet Glenn Stockton

    Managing Partner, Stockton & Stern, LLC

    Glenn is the principal and managing attorney of Stockton & Stern, LLC, and has been engaged in the private practice of law in the Kansas City area for more than 15 years. Glenn is a member of WealthCounsel, a national alliance of estate planning attorneys as well as the Probate Law Bench/Bar Committee of the Johnson County Bar Association. He is also an accredited attorney with the Veterans Administration (VA). With his wealth of knowledge and experience, he is able to design custom estate plans on behalf of clients that help preserve wealth, help protect personal and family assets and helps clients feel confident that their loved ones are protected.

    Glenn received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedictine College in 1995 and received a post-graduate Diploma in European and International Politics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland in 1997. Thereafter, Glenn went on to attend law school at the University of Kansas, where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1999. Glenn and his wife enjoy spending time with their family at their lake home in Gardner. In addition to spending time with family, Glenn likes to get away on his motorcycle.

    Marion is a principal and Director of Operations of Stockton & Stern, LLC. Marion focuses her practice on asset protection strategies. Her goal is to safeguard assets from the attack of creditors, litigants, taxation, probate, and healthcare entities in order to help preserve wealth for families. Marion’s practice areas include Elder Law, Medicaid Planning and Medicaid Applications, Probate and Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Special Needs Planning and Trusts, Guardianships, VA Benefits, and Bankruptcy.     Marion is a graduate from the University Of Kansas School Of Law. She was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. Marion L. Stern lives in Olathe, Kansas with her husband, a local firefighter, and their children. She and her husband enjoy traveling, biking and cooking.
